Miroslav Rus & Katja Restović: A creative meeting of a lyricist and a director
The collaboration with Rus resulted not only in a series of music videos, but also in a long-lasting friendship built on mutual respect.
As one of the central figures of the Croatian music scene, Miroslav Rus was a natural creative partner for Restović, especially through their shared work with the label Hit Records. Over the years, they produced videos for various artists, as well as several for Rus himself — including Kad zamiriše trešnja and others he authored.
Their bond grew through conversations, ideas and mutual inspiration. Rus’s song Igra bez granica, intended for Toše Proeski, was meant to be filmed in Poreč under Restović’s direction — but Toše tragically passed away the night before the shoot.
Rus brings a unique combination of seriousness, humor and emotional depth, often defining the tone of each set. The collaboration represents a blend of two sensibilities — musical and visual — that naturally complement one another.
