Montraker: The place where Katja Restović discovered her sculptural language in stone
Participation in the international sculpture school in Vrsar gave the artist a strong foundation for working with stone and public space.
Montraker is one of the best-known sculpture schools in the region, and Restović’s work there was marked by intensive collaboration with her mentor, Josip Dimić. The program combined artisanal discipline with an experimental approach, shaping her later interest in sculpture, installation and interventions in public space.
It was in these workshops that her sense of volume, weight and balance first fully formed. Montraker remains one of the key turning points in the development of her visual language.
