Valentino & Katja Restović: Working with the legendary Sarajevo pop-rock band
The videos were created through close collaboration with the band’s songwriter and frontman, Zijo Rizvanbegović, resulting in a visual style that followed Valentino’s recognisable sound.
Valentino, whose pop-rock style has defined part of the Sarajevo music scene, left a strong influence on the generations of that time. The collaboration between Zijo Rizvanbegović and Katja Restović took place at a moment when their sound was modernizing and opening up to new visual interpretations, coinciding with Rizvanbegović taking over lead vocal duties.
In four videos, Restović combined the emotional tone of the songs with strong symbolism and atmospheres characteristic of the band and its author. Working with Zijo allowed for a fluid creative process and high production quality, leaving an important trace in the contemporary history of Valentino.
