Restović and the visual aesthetics of the regional music scene
From the 1990s to today, the author has directed and produced several hundred music videos, collaborating with the most prominent names of the Croatian and regional music landscape.
Music videos hold a particularly important place in the career of Katja Restović. Over thirty years of collaboration with leading record labels, she has created a series of recognisable visual stories. She has worked with artists such as Massimo Savić, Severina, Petar Grašo, Doris Dragović, Tereza Kesovija, Josipa Lisac, Jacques Houdek and many others, helping shape the visual identity of popular music during its peak media expansion.
One collaboration stands out in particular: the video for “Ljubav kao miris putuje”, for which Massimo Savić received a Porin Award, while Restović wrote the lyrics and directed the video. This segment of her work consistently intertwines film, performance and musical dramaturgy.
